PVC Rod has obviously many uses and we list a few below:

PVC Rod in the fabrication industry
Because PVC Rod can be welded, bonded and formed, it is very popular within the fabrication industry because it is compatible with other components used within this industry and can intigrate.

PVC Rod for electrical components
PVC Rod has a very good electrical resistance and is an excellent electrical insulator. Which means that PVC Rod is one of the most economical materials to use with the advantage of having a class 1 fire rating PVC Rod is hard to beat.

PVC Rod in the chemical industry
One of PVC Rods more underestimated advantages is the chemcial resistance factor. PVC Rod is often used as handles on chemcial tanks because it can easily be machined and has excellent chemical resistance.

PVC Rod in domestic applications
Many domestic applications such as washing machines will have PVC Rod components inside, this is because it is very economical and will reduce overall machine weight. PVC Rod will also insulate against some heat and vibration transfer as well as providing excellent electrical insulation.

Tips about PVC Rod
Although PVC Rod is very good for fabrication applications it is important to remember that PVC Rod will form with reasonably moderate heat and then re-form upon cooling, this may be a disadvantage in an area where heat may be an issue which may cause unwelcome distortion.

Another area to remember regarding PVC Rod is its limited resistance to wear and abrasion. Most engineering plastics naturally have a resistance to wear but PVC Rod has a very poor performance in this area and is not recommended if wear or abrasion resistance is required.

The U.V resistance of PVC Rod may be less than other engineering plastics and although this is rarely an issue, prolonged exposure to high levels of U.V may reduce the impact resistance of PVC Rod and it may become more brittle as a result.

Another factor which may be relevant is PVC Rod's performance at very low temperatures, PVC Rod can be affected by low temperatures and could lose some of its impact resistance and could become more brittle as the temperature reduces.
